Bastet is the ancient Egyptian goddess of the home,
fertility, women's secrets, domesticity, and cats. 

Initially depicted as a fierce lioness warrior,
she evolved into a gentle goddess associated with the domestic cat,
embodying protection and joy for the home and family.

She also played a role in the afterlife as a guide for the dead
and was considered a daughter of the sun god Ra.
