Sobek was the ancient Egyptian crocodile god associated with the Nile,
fertility, and royal power. 

He was often depicted as a man with a crocodile's head or as a crocodile itself. 
Sobek was a creator god who was believed to have brought order from chaos,
created the Nile and ensured abundant crops.

He was also a protective deity, revered for his strength and power,
and was invoked by pharaohs and common people for aid
and protection from the dangers of the natural world and the afterlife.
